In honor of Super Bowl weekend, I have decided to dedicate this blog post to the biggest day in advertising. Isn’t it crazy that a 30-second Super Bowl advertising costs approximately $5.1 million? Not to mention that many companies will run multiple 30-second advertisements throughout the duration of the game. Do you think that these companies are getting their money's worth out of these commercials?
I have compiled a list of past commercials that I personally have found to be the best, the worst, and new advertisers you can expect this year.
Top 5 favorite Super Bowl Commercials:
2015 Budweiser: “Lost Dog”
2018 Amazon Alexa: “Alexa Loses Her Voice”
1979 Coca Cola: “Mean” Joe Greene, “Hey Kid, Catch!”
2010 Doritos: “Keep Yo Hands off my Momma”
2011 Volkswagen: “Darth Vader”
Top 5 least favorite Super Bowl Commercials:
2013 GoDaddy: “Perfect Match”
2015 Mountain Dew: “Puppy Baby Monkey”
2011 Groupon: “Tibet”
2018 Diet Coke Twisted Mango: “Groove”
2003 Bud Light: “Worst Nightmare”
New advertisers to look forward to this year:
Bubly, PepsiCo’s sparkling water brand
Bumble, the dating app
Expensify, financial app
SimpliSafe, home security
We’d love to hear from you!
