Early morning meetings aren’t so bad anymore. Here’s why.

We have normalized people perpetuating themselves as coffee-craving, sunlight-avoiding, tired zombies in the morning. I too dreaded getting up early, but not anymore.

When I joined SWOOP, I was excited about the opportunity, but not about having to wake up so early. My bad sleeping habit had to be corrected. There was no way I was going to be able to make it through SWOOP being tired every morning. Changing my sleep schedule helped me not rush to SWOOP meetings. Being in SWOOP not only made me adjust my bad sleeping habits, but also I began to appreciate the benefits of waking up early.

Most of the important things in my life have limited operating hours. Because I wake up early, I’m able to run my errands during daylight hours and still have time for whatever shenanigans (just kidding) I decide to partake in.

Having the daily routine of waking up early has allowed me to free myself of the negative mindset about it. I adjusted my sleep schedule so I wouldn't be tired at SWOOP meetings and so I could get more things done in the day. It has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
